AI readiness
The seven things that decide whether AI can quote you
Being readable by an AI assistant is not one property, it is seven, and they are not equally important. These are the checks our free audit runs, what each one is worth, and how to fix it.
| Check | Weight | What it means |
|---|---|---|
| AI crawler access | 20 | Whether your robots.txt lets AI crawlers read your pages at all. |
| Structured data | 20 | Whether pages carry valid schema.org JSON-LD describing what they are. |
| Heading hierarchy | 10 | Whether headings form a real outline rather than styled text. |
| Entity clarity | 15 | Whether a reader can tell who you are and what you do from the page alone. |
| llms.txt | 10 | Whether you publish an llms.txt describing your site to AI agents. |
| Readable content | 15 | How much of your page a crawler can read before JavaScript runs. |
| Citation readiness | 10 | Whether the page carries marks of something worth citing: author, date, sources, and specifics. |
Weights sum to 100 and come from the audit itself. Crawler access and structured data carry the most because they are binary: either a model can read and identify the page, or nothing else matters.
